Spring Cleaning
I got a late start with Spring cleaning this year, however, as long as it get’s done is all that matters. If you’ve read any of my essential oil or health and wellness focused blogs you know that I am in the process of transitioning things in my home and in my life to things that are less toxic as well as environmentally friendly. This year, I decided to use only non-toxic and chemical free products to do my Spring cleaning.
I recently purchased a bottle of doTERRA’s On Guard Cleaner Concentrate and decided to use only that and other natural ingredients like vinegar and baking soda for cleaning. doTERRA’s website and Pinterest page have a plethora of recipes for cleaning anything in your home. You should check them out!
I started my Spring cleaning with cleaning my washing machine. From time to time it can produce a funky odor which can cause the clothes to not come out smelling clean. Has anyone else had this problem too? After some some research, I found out that this can be due to a variety of things like the products we use to launder our clothes, a moldy washer, using too little or too much detergent to name a few. Speaking of laundry products, PLEASE stay away from all of the smell good laundry products (laundry detergent, fabric softener, scent boosters, dryer sheets etc.) especially if you have sensitive skin, eczema or you’re washing an infant’s clothing. Those products are so bad for our skin. Fragrance free is the way to go! Sorry, when the Nurse Practitioner in me is nudged, I have to respond, lol!
